With Canada Day holiday yesterday and the Summer now officially kicked-off, it was an unusually quiet week in terms of Canadian housing market news. Later this week Canada’s major real estate boards will report June sales data which will complete the traditional ‘Spring’ market period.
Activity in this seasonal sector has been healthy in most parts of the country after a slow, weather-related start to the season. Prices vary greatly from region to region but Re/Max says that the withdrawal by CMHC of its Secondary Home product has had very little impact to the market so far this year.
